Our Membership runs from 1 January – 31st December each year, with the fees being:

Adults (over 18 years on 1st January, not in full time education)    £87 + £20 joining fee                                                                                                                  (first year only)

Juniors (under 18 on 1st January, or in full time education)            £28 no joining fee

Please note that those aged under 18 on 1st January must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian at the flying field or Club Nights

The annual fees reduce after 1st July and there are provisions for Family or Group Memberships, these being detailed on the membership application form.

IMPORTANT

As Wicken MAC is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association (BMFA), a condition of membership is that you MUST also be a member of the BMFA . This organisation not only looks after the rights and interests of model fliers at a national level, it also provides third party insurance cover and offers a host of benefits.

In addition, it is a legal requirement that you be registered with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) if flying model aircraft that weigh more than 250g – and this also involves passing a basic proficiency test on-line. This is explained here.

You are responsible for paying both your BMFA membership fee and CAA annual registration.

New members

In the first instance, please make contact with our Club Secretary [email protected] who will arrange for you to visit the field and meet fellow members. Once you have been introduced and decided to join, then we will give instructions on how to pay via WebCollect. Once you have set up your account and chosen your method of payment, you will be sent a confirmation email with the relevant payment details.
